Growing a Client Base with Emotional Marketing
Friday, December 4, 2009 12:46So many people are looking for the next big thing in marketing, what’s going to get clients the fastest? Sorry to disappoint everyone, but there are no secrets. The best ways to build a client base is to focus on building credibility and trust with your marketing efforts. The next thing you might ask is how do we build credibility and trust with advertising, sponsorship or with a marketing insert. You can’t. Credibility and trust don’t come that easy.
One of my most favourite emotional marketing strategies for attracting new clients is through the use of referrals or rather affiliate programs. Having an affiliate program means you ride in on someone else’s well-established relationship. This is far less expensive than trying to acquire a customer on your own.
Affiliate programs can be formalized by agreeing to a certain percentage of a contract if referred to by a partner. A lot of organizations don’t like the idea of giving away a certain percentage for an earned contract. Would you spend $500.00 to make $5,000.00 for a profit of $4,500.00? I would!
Another way to do it is to partner with another company and give away a sample of product or service information to all its buyers. The partner will be happy to give their clients a bonus product and the company who offered the product increased its leads! Win-Win!

Whatever it is that you do ensure you keep emotional marketing strategies in mind! And when the time comes that you are interested in increasing the amount of clients you have (is there ever a time where you don’t want this?) to keep affiliate programs in mind!
