City’s Tourism Marketing Agency Hits the Virtual Airwaves

Well thanks to a new web initiative launched by Destination Winnipeg, visitors and Winnipeggers now have the ability to check out ‘Peg-city festivals, events and attractions right from the comfort of their own home.

Introducing Destination Winnipeg TV – your one-stop-shop for the videos on year-round festivals, events and attractions that take place in Winnipeg. Each month Destination Winnipeg will be out and about at various city happenings and reporting their adventures back to you at www.destinationwinnipeg.ca/tv

“The launch of DWTV is a natural progression in our plan to have the Destination Winnipeg website be “the” location for locals and visitors alike to get the latest information on what’s happening in the city, “ says Lori Walder, Destination Winnipeg Director of Marketing and Communications.

Destination Winnipeg TV will feature stories on cool events, interesting attractions and special features on the city’s many festivals that take place throughout the year. Destination Winnipeg TV is hosted by Connie Tamoto, DW Style Blogger and former TV reporter, and will also feature guest host spots from Destination Winnipeg Bloggers, local actors, musicians, comedians, athletes … etc.

“DWTV is a great addition to our existing communications avenues for promoting all the things happening in the city. Our blog, Get the 411 on the 204, our monthly E-news and What’s New Newsletters, and of course our website with our up-to-date events calendar and online booking capabilities all make it easy to be a part of all the great events in the city,” says Walder.
