Internet Marketing – Take it Slow
Thursday, November 5, 2009 14:39Most businesses embracing the digital marketing channels do it because they think it will be cheap and fast. It’s simple right? You choose a handful of keywords, link to some of your webpages, buy some pay-per-click ads on your favourite search engine and watch the sales ring up!
Problem is, that’s all wrong!Internet marketing is about taking it slowly. Yes, you can make fast decisions, see fast results, optimize and change things on the fly, but real, tangible results take time. You can’t quickly start a blog and get results right away. It takes time to build content, find your online voice, build a community and most importantly earn trust and respect. The same goes for Twitter. You can’t sign up for Twitter and write a hundred Tweets a day and hope to have 1,000 followers by the end of the week. It doesn’t work that way.
Take time to invest in building an online community set on a foundation of trust by provding informative content that adds value to all those apart of the community. As you maintain your consistency so will the number of followers on Twitter, friends on Facebook and viewers to your blog and website. The key though is to be patient. Results won’t come overnight, so start today and remember to be consistent.

Hi – I don’t comment on many web sites but had to on yours. It’s fantastic! I really like how you write – very to the point, unlike a lot of other journals. I don’t have time to read everything here right now, I found your site while looking for something else on ask.com. But I’ve bookmarked your homepage and will visit it regularly to read your latest postings. Thanks for having this site. I love reading web sites about online marketing. It’s such an exciting subject. I’ll bookmark it and visit regularly. Thanks again for a very informative site!
