Motivation

As I was working over the past summer, something came to my mind….a lot of people don’t like what they are doing. There are a ton of people that seem to wake up every morning and grudgingly go to work. Now, I’m not saying that every day that you work will be completely fun. There are a lot of times when certain deadlines and projects seem to really get to me and I don’t really want to do them, but for the most part I personally enjoy doing work.

For the past two years I have taken a course called Digital Multimedia Technology at Red River College. If anyone is familiar with that course, you would know that there is a lot of work involved in it. Some days you would barely, if at all, get sleep in order to get a project done.  For a lot of people the amount of work would be overwhelming. For me though, it’s what I enjoy doing so it doesn’t seem like work at all. And that, I find, is the difference between waking up and going to work verses waking up and having fun.

If you are doing what you love to do, then you won’t need any other form of motivation other than the work itself. Again, some days and projects can get you down and at times it really does feel like ‘work’, but generally speaking, if you do what you have always wanted to do then you will never have to go to work.
